| Brief History: |
Kiss was formed in New York. Gene Simmons was born August 25, 1949, Paul Stanley was born January 20, 1950, Ace Frehley was born April 27, 1951, and Peter Criss was born December 20, 1947. Kiss is known for very theatrical stage shows and extreme makeup. Simmons was made up as "The Bat Lizard", Stanley as the "Star Child", Frehely as "Space Man", and Criss as "The Cat". In 1981, Eric Carr replaced Criss. In 1982, Vinnie Vincent replaced Frehley. In 1983, the group appeared for the first time sans makeup on the album cover Lick It Up. In 1984, Vincent was replaced by Mark St. John. In 1985, St. John was replaced by Bruce Kulick, the brother of Bob Kulick of Balance. Carr died November 25, 1991. In 1991, Eric Singer, (Drums) joined the group. In 1996, the orignal group reunited. |
